Knarvik Upper Secondary School (Knarvik vidaregåande skule)
Knarvik Upper Secondary School is a high school located at Knarvik in the local council of Lindås, 30 kilometers north of Bergen, Norway. The school is the largest of its kind in Hordaland County, with more than a thousand students aged 16 to 20 and a staff of around 190.
The school offers vocational training as well as general academic studies.
We have six different vocational programs:
- Building and Construction
- Design, Arts and Crafts
- Electricity and electronics
- Healthcare, Childhood- and Youth Development
- Service and transport
- Technical and industrial production
The general studies program counts about 350 students who may specialize in three different fields:
- Natural science and mathematics
- Languages, social sciences and economics
In close cooperation with local industry the school also offers a special four year course which combines practical training and academic studies to give the students both a craft certificate and a university entry diploma.
As a large and publicly owned school Knarvik Upper Secondary School welcomes students with a wide range of abilities. Some of them have special needs and require teaching which to a large degree has to be individually adapted. Our aim as a school is to give all our students, regardless of their talents, an environment where they will experience learning and personal growth.
